Rolino MCP server
Your content workflow. In your AI tool.
Connect Codex, Claude Code, or a compatible AI client to Rolino. Use the MCP server for social media scheduling, Blog workflows, and SEO data.
Which AI tool do you use?
Choose your client for setup steps. You control the access it receives.
- Open Settings, then MCP servers, then Add server.
- Name the server Rolino, choose Streamable HTTP, and paste the URL below. Save the server and restart if prompted.
- Open Plugins, then MCPs. Select Authenticate next to Rolino. Sign in and approve the workspace and permissions.
- Start a new chat and ask Codex to list your Rolino brands to check the connection.
Server name: Rolino · Transport: Streamable HTTP
https://getrolino.com/mcpNo Node.js or CLI installation is needed for this setup. Menu names can vary by app version. See the official Codex MCP guide for configuration details.
Hosted MCP uses its own browser authorization. A CLI login does not sign in a hosted MCP client. No local MCP package is required.
Start with a read-only request
After connection, ask your agent to confirm the workspace and list your brands. Then choose the brand for the next task.
List my Rolino brands and show the upcoming social posts for the brand I select. Do not change, schedule, or publish anything.
Give the agent the Rolino agent guide before it changes data.
From a conversation to prepared work
Use your agent to prepare drafts from captions and media you supply, inspect the content calendar, or read stored SEO opportunities. Blog tools can prepare articles and featured images when your workspace has access.
Rolino does not generate social captions or social images. Your agent can help write them; Rolino stores and schedules the supplied content.
If the connection needs attention
If login expires, start authentication again from your MCP client. If access is missing, review the connection in Rolino Agents and authorize the required permissions. Do not put access tokens into prompts.
For local STDIO, install both @rolino/cli and @rolino/mcp, run rolino auth login, then use rolino setup mcp --client codex --transport stdio (or --client claude-code).
See the authentication guide and developer resources for the full contract.
Common questions
What is an MCP server?
Model Context Protocol (MCP) lets a compatible AI client use tools from another service. Rolino provides tools to read your brands, prepare drafts, inspect SEO evidence, and request authorized publishing actions.
Does connecting an agent let it publish?
Only if you grant the required permissions. Draft writing, scheduling, and immediate publication are separate capabilities. Publishing actions use a preview and confirmation flow. Existing credentials do not gain new permissions automatically.
Can I use Cursor, Claude Desktop, or another client?
Use the Other MCP clients instructions if your client supports remote Streamable HTTP and Rolino's browser OAuth flow. Client support and plan requirements can change. Consult your client's current MCP guide if connection fails.
